I think I'd have to say Four Days Out.

Re: Favourite Episode?
It's a tie between Crazy Handful Of Nothin' and Negro Y Azul.

Re: Favourite Episode?
There are a few
Pilot-the whole episode is great, but the scene in the clothing store really sold the show for me
Crazy Handful of nothin-Sad (the effects of chemo) but badass at the end
Grey Matter-The family intervention/meeting, powerful powerful stuff. The smirk after blowing up "Ken wins" car was great
4 Days out-Funny, dramatic, growing relationship between our two heroes. Great ending as well

I forgot all about the "Ken Wins" scene. That was superb.

Re: Favourite Episode?
Probably 'Bags in the river' but there really hasn't been one weak episode so far.

I'd agree with this, while I like some episodes more then others, I haven't really dislkied any of them. The weakest episode thus far for me would actually probably be "Over"

four days out
jesse: what are we building
walt: you said it yourself
jesse: a robot?

Re: Favourite Episode?
Mandala was excellent, too, especially in showcasing just how deep Walt and Jesse are sinking.

Re: Favourite Episode?
Ken Wins was in Cancer Man, not Grey Matter.
Anyways, so far, my favorites would be:
1. Better Call Saul - Funniest episode in the series. Peter Gould is an amazing writer, and I loved the fact he re-used his legendary "ski masks". Also, the ending scene with the drug deal was both hilarious and extremely intense at the same time. Also, I love the "this man will go to jail for you" twist. Pretty clever and unpredictable writing.
2. Grilled - What can I say? An extremely intense episode, that also has clever writing.
3. Pilot - This is a perfect example of what a Pilot episode should be. The excellent opening, the constant character development, and the awesome Mick Harvey song at the end make the entire episode feel more like a novel.
4. Phoenix - Wow, just an amazing episode. Phoenix means rebirth through death, and this episode began with the birth of a baby (along with the birth of Walter making A LOT of money), and ended with the death of an innocent woman, that will (hopefully) lead to the rebirth of Jesse. The fight scene between Jesse, Jane, and Jane's dad was gripping and real. Powerful episode.
5. 4 Days Out- After seeing this episode, I'm struggling to decide whether Sam Catlin or Peter Gould is my favorite writer on the show. Both provide excellent humor mixed in with excellent drama. Sam Catlin seems to lean more towards the drama aspect, which is fine by me. I love the last scene, and all the musical numbers.
6. A No-Rough-Stuff-Type Deal - A pivotal episode in the series. This is the episode were Walt officially breaks bad. In the Pilot, when he threw matches into the pool, he decided to become a meth dealer. And in this episode, he DOES become a meth dealer. Plus the constant Peter Gould humor doesn't hurt, and the methylamine theft scene is awesome.
7. Cat's in the Bag... - Everywhere I go, I seem to be the only one who loves this episode. It's hilarious! While the second part, "And the Bags in the River..." may be stronger, I personally enjoyed this episode much more.
8. Down - Things fall down. People look up. And when it rains, it pours. This episode symbolizes the entire second season, one step forward, two steps back. Life is hard sometimes, but if you take action, you can make it better. I find this to be the the most depressing episode in the show, and I love it.

Re: Favourite Episode?
I love the song at the end of the pilot, it is absolutely perfect, in fact I am giving the pilot (at least, hopefully more, we shall see) as my sister wants to watch the DVD. (she was going to watch it tonight, but i asked to watch it with her on the 42inch LCD with surround sound ) Hey, maybe I can even get my mother to watch the pilot..

Re: Favourite Episode?
"Grilled" (Hank, Walt, and Jesse all got their own great moment near the end)
"...and the Bag's in the River" (Walt choking Krazy 8 was the best moment of Season 1)
"Over" (The slow build up to one of the best ending in the whole series)

Probably either Better Call Saul or Mandala. Brilliant writing on those two... I think as great as the first season was the second is even better.

yea the krazy 8 part was amazing when walt looked to find the pieces of the plate and one part was missing man... and then he had to kill him you would never find something that well written in a show ever besides on this that scene was amazing

That episode had me on the edge of my seat like no other so far, The pilot dragged me into this show with the characters, the second, and particularly third episodes knocked me out of the park and made me a permanent fan.
