When did you first start watching?
I didn't catch the show on its initial run, regrettably. In fact, I hadn't even heard of it until it was midway through its first season, and I was busy at that time and didn't have time to catch up. However, once the season ended, I downloaded the full order of episodes and was immediately hooked. I've watched the second season since it debuted.
Funnily enough, I watched the entire first season all the way through without stopping - not even for a restroom break. That's how hooked I was.
What say you, fellow Breaking Bad fans?

Re: When did you first start watching?
I only started watching early this season. I downloaded the first season because of a recommendation on another site, watched it in about 2 days and then caught up on the current season.
Re: When did you first start watching?
I had the first season recommended to me on Netflix before the second season aired, I didn't have much else in my queue that struck my fancy at the time, so I decided "what the heck" and bumped it up to the top of my queue. (I'm not sure why it was recommended, based on my ratings but I'm not sure what I rated highly that caused it to recommend it) The first disk arrived, it sat on my desk for a few days then around 10:30 one night, I decided to pop it in the laptop and see how it was, I watched the first episode, and was hooked. Mainly because I, for the first time saw myself in a TV or movie character, I immediately empathized with the characters and their plight. I breezed through the first disk in one sitting.........I needed to see what happened so the next day when I went to the mall with my parents, I headed over to Best Buy and picked up the entire first season for $26.99 I watched the rest of the season that day, and haven't missed an episode since......
Re: When did you first start watching?
Pretty much the same as Shawn, I saw the commercials/previews probably a couple months before the first episode and was like that's Hal from Malcom I've got to watch that.

When it won Emmys, I had to see what the show was about. It was love at first sight.
The show totally deserves more wins this year.

Re: When did you first start watching?
I didn't hear of the show until Bryan Cranston won the Emmy, and when I heard the premise I thought it sounded interesting. I managed to catch the Pilot during a marathon of the first season, so I DVRed the rest of the season and watched it the next day...let's just say I didn't get up from the couch for basically the entire day. It was amusing, actually, because my family would drift in and out of the living room and start watching it with me...and my sister ended up getting hooked when I was on the 5th episode. Now we don't miss one episode, and it's one of our favorite shows.

Re: When did you first start watching?
I've gotten my dad to watch the second season on Demand now....he watched the first season on DVD. My sister wants to watch the first season as well
The Emmys surprisingly didn't do it for me. I watched them, and saw that Cranston was nominated for Breaking Bad. I hadn't watched the show, but I rooted for him regardless being a fan of his and all, I was psyched for him when he won however, I thought to myself "I should check that show out..........someday" I'm glad I did.

...okay, if I may shift gears for a moment, what will you guys do to cope when the season ends and we begin the long wait for the third season?

I'd rather not think of that.............
But seriously, Netflix, Netflix, and more Netflix. I'll probably watch a whole lot of Star Trek Voyager and Enterprise on DVD. I really don't have a life outside of college/work lol.
Re: When did you first start watching?
I just realized about all of my favorite shows will be on hiatus. Sucks.

I'm trolling the IMDb and asking people on the forums about various shows and whether or not I should give them a chance. Something to pass the time when this season ends.

Re: When did you first start watching?
I don't really watch the show either, but I've seen him in every one I've watched, and looking on IMDB I guess he in in 54 of 58 episodes, not a major character but one that is at least in about every episode.
Re: When did you first start watching?

Re: When did you first start watching?
Hey, new guy in town, and I remember exactly how I first got interested in this show. I was watching The Godfather one day on AMC, and I saw a promo for Breaking Bad. I instantly knew that this was going to be a great show, and was very excited to see the first episode. Despite my excitement, I COMPLETELY forgot to watch the first episode when it premiered. The first episode I saw was the last 15 minutes of episode 2, but saw the epside again when they aired their encore presentation. Once I got caught up with episode 1 (thanks to AMC's website), that was it. I was a fan. And once I saw the final scenes of episode 3 (aka: the infamous bike lock event) I fell in love with this show.
Since then, i've gotten my mom and some of my friends absolutely hooked on this show, and each of them love it. Just as they should, of course. Now, I never miss an episode as they premiere. Sunday nights just can't come soon enough!

Re: When did you first start watching?
Okay, Malcolm in the Middle is one of my guilty pleasures. I love that show. So when I saw Bryan Cranston in this intriguing preview I looked up the synopsis. I was like, "Oh man! Can he pull this off?" I watched the pilot episode and wondered if it would survive since it was new for AMC to start a series. I told everyone I knew about the show and a lot of people shrugged it off, but when Cranston won the Emmy people started to listen. I told them from the beginning and I'm telling them now. This show is awesome!

Re: When did you first start watching?
Lots of good stories; I'm currently dating this girl, and she, out of the blue, asked me if I ever watched Dexter. I told her that yes, of course I did, but then I asked her if she's ever watched Breaking Bad, and she had never heard of it. So now I have a new pet, as it were.
You know, it's fun watching these episodes again with someone who's never seen them. Watching their reactions is alot of fun.

Re: When did you first start watching?
I've been thinking about getting my parents into it, but handjob and man-butt might make quite an awkward first episode...
Re: When did you first start watching?
Ya, the handjob was a bit akward watching with the old man.............but my trick is to casually get up to get a drink in the next room...........
Re: When did you first start watching?
That sort of stuff doesn't affect me. I think as long as you're both mature about it and look at it as artistic, there's nothing really awkward about it. Now, if it were the two of you sitting around watching pornography, that'd be one thing.
As much as I appreciate the talents of someone like, say, Jeanna Fine, or Jenna Haze, I do think it would be impossible to watch them partake in those talents with a close relative. Ha.

Yeah that's a good idea, used to do that trick.
Or just be mature about and don't make eye contact. There are far more worse things you can see anyways.

Re: When did you first start watching?
Yea, I was more kidding with what I said then anything, I really could care less about seeing such things on TV or movies, as long as they are tasteful, and have an artistic/plot/character point and aren't just there for "shock value." The characters are humans, and that is what humans do.
And yes........sitting around with the family watching a porno might be the most awkward idea in the history of mankind
And as to the man-butt............just show them the DVD box..........underwear..........RV..........gun........shirt.........wallabee shoes.......If that isn't an intriguing combination/scenario I don't know what is!
