This show has a way of throwing the viewer for a real loop. Case in point, this EXCELLENT episode and the exploding tortoise scene. Tortuga's head on its back was one thing, but when it went up in flames and nearly decimated all of Hank's new co-workers, I jumped a few feet in my recliner.
And the fact that they had such a fantastic character actor like Danny Trejo make an appearance and quickly shuffle off this mortal coil in a manner of minutes was pure ballsiness.
Breaking Bad is truly excellent television.

Negro Y Azul or Black and Blue. Blue is the meth, but what about the Black? If I remember correctly Walt's old research partner's Elliot's last name translated to Black, which is how they came up with Grey Matter. Maybe Elliot is involved on some level with the Cartel.

I think the Gretchen and Elliot characters have served their purpose, and I don't really see them being involved with the Cartel. That would seem too much like an episode of 24.

great episode, though it seems weird in context of the whole season. The whole cartels/Mexican angle was never expanded upon beyond this ep, even though it seemed to be quite obviously implied by that song at the beginning. Perhaps in season 3...

breaking bad is good this way i think the begining part of this episode was to make people kind of think that those body bags were obviously walt because of that music video they put in the begining and at the end walt was there dead they are really good at making people wonder whats gonna happen and have it be way off and totaly different then anyone would have ever imagined
