Bryan Cranston
Bryan Cranston is an American actor who plays the character Walter White in Breaking Bad.
He is also known for many other roles including:
- Dr. Tim Whatley on Seinfeld
Doug's neighbour in The King Of Queens
Ted Mosby's boss on How I Met Your Mother
And perhaps his most famous role, Hal on Malcolm in the Middle.
Re: Bryan Cranston
I'm not a fan of the other shows, but Malcolm in the Middle was great. Hal was awesome. The one with the steamroller and the time he lead the "revolt" at Lucky Aide where probably my favorites.

Malcolm in the middle............man I grew up with that show practically (being the same age as the main character) Love it. Too bad there will probably never be DVDs beyond the first season....
Mr. Cranston is a great actor, very underrated and underused. He is good/great in just about everything he is in, I recently watched "From the Earth to the Moon" A good portrayal of Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin in 2 episodes.

Re: Bryan Cranston
For some reason, I never took to this guy in anything before Breaking Bad. Something about him bugged me, and I could never put my finger on it.
That changed when I saw the first episode of Breaking Bad, however. I think it may have been the fact that everything I saw him in, he was generally playing a variation of two roles; the smarmy, arrogant slime, or the milquetoast. Now, he DOES play the milquetoast in Breaking Bad, but it seems genuine rather than forced for comedic purposes. And he's now proving he can play cold, borderline ruthless, too. The dude's acting in Breaking Bad made me do a complete 180; he's fantastic in the role, and I'm thrilled that he's getting recognition for it. It's a dream role for an actor; one that showcases a serious range.

His character in Malcolm in the Middle is essentially a grown man, who really hasn't grown up a heck of a lot. He is afraid of just about everything, and acts often like the boys he is trying to raise..........he has some sparks of maturity when he needs it though, and is still a good father and husband.......making him more interesting then most sitcom parents.
Re: Bryan Cranston
From comedy to drama is hard enough, but to find comedy in a dark dramatization is even more difficult to do. We can watch as Walt goes from Jekyll to Hyde without a moment's hesitation. The same actor playing two sides of a coin within moments of the same scene is astonishing. Brilliance has a name and it is Bryan Cranston.

I know, I believe the problem (at least in part) with the DVDs in music rights. Not sure is with ASCAP and/or BMI or with the artists themselves. Did you know with ASCAP if you record someone else's song and it lasts over 5 mins you have to pay extra?

Yep, music rights is/was the only hold up. too bad........ The latest news I've heard is Frankie Muniz said rather informally in an interview where he answered submitted fan questions for a website was that "there has been talks, but don't expect anything soon......"

Re: Bryan Cranston
A few vids.
Bryan Cranston playing Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin in the 1998 HBO Miniseries From the Earth to the Moon. He appeared in two episodes, briefly in the first, and one of the main characters in this one. He had some difficult scenes, and even though I am not an expert on Aldrin, he seemingly got his rather reserved, almost neurotic seriousness down pretty well.
Here is an episode of Airwolf from way back in 1986 in which BC plays the villain of the week. I dare say in his younger days he looks like he could have played Bond

Re: Bryan Cranston
Nominated for, but did not win a SAG award this year in 2009.
Curiously he wasn't nominated at all for a golden globe
